2017 Second XI Fixtures released

Leicestershire CCC have confirmed their Second XI Fixtures for the 2017 season. A full list is available HERE

The Second XI Fixture list has changed to reflect the First XI schedule in 2017 with the 50-over Trophy group fixtures being held in April and May, and the T20 competition predominantly played in late June and July.

Leicestershire Second XI will play Championship fixtures throughout the season with a number of red ball friendlies scheduled towards the end of the campaign.

With another very busy summer of action at the Fischer County Ground, Second XI cricket will again be played around the region.

There are two venues for Second XI home games in 2017 to date: Kibworth CC and Desborough Town CC.

Pre-season plans at the club will include the whole squad with a number of intra-squad matches taking place at the Fischer County Ground.

The Second XI season gets underway with a Championship game against Nottinghamshire at Nottinghamshire Sports Ground on Monday, April 10, and the first home fixture is in the T20 competition versus MCC Young Cricketers at Kibworth CC on Thursday, April 20.

Leicestershire CCC Second XI Coach John Sadler said: “There are some good matches to look forward to and a nice spread of fixtures across the summer.

“The ECB and counties have tried to organise the fixtures in a manner that runs alongside the First XI for planning and preparation purposes. It will greatly benefit the players to be training and playing white ball cricket at the same times of year.

“I’d like to thank Kibworth and Desborough for agreeing to host some of our matches this summer and we look forward to visiting those grounds and our other host venues over the course of the season."
