Equity, Diversity and Inclusion
Leicestershire County Cricket Club is committed to creating a welcoming environment at Uptonsteel Grace Road and across cricket in Leicestershire and Rutland. Equity, diversity and inclusion are part of how the club works, and the aim is to create a culture where people feel valued, respected and able to thrive.
Our Approach
The club's EDI Action Plan is the roadmap for delivering these ambitions. It focuses on how the club works internally, while also recognising the club's role in modelling inclusive behaviour across cricket.
What We Are Working Towards
- Building a more inclusive culture across the club
- Making the club more representative of Leicestershire today
- Attracting, progressing and retaining diverse talent
- Being more inclusive across disabled and LGBTQ+ communities
- Ensuring voices are welcomed, heard and valued
- Reviewing progress regularly through the EDI working group, the Board and senior management
What This Means In Practice
- Leadership that supports a welcoming environment
- Anti-discrimination and unconscious bias training
- Annual learning and development opportunities
- Each pillar of the club setting its own inclusion goals
- Action that supports engagement, learning and positive change
Community and Belonging
The club also says it is welcoming of people from all backgrounds and wants cricket to be a game that belongs to everyone. The wider goal is for the club and the county ground to feel like a place where everyone can feel at home.
