2018 League round-up 6

Tom Wells was in inspired form to return the stunning figures of 8 for 12 as his Loughborough side were comprehensive winners against Barkby.

Loughborough won the toss and elected to field and Wells went to work to destroy the Barkby batting line up, his figures also including a hat-trick.

Loughborough were set 99 to win and went about their chase in positive fashion as they maintained a run rate above 5 throughout their innings. Academy batsman Ashish Trusz guided the side home in finishing unbeaten on 53.

Barrow Town were in impressive form as they racked up 307 having been asked to bat first by Kibworth. Sardeep Salgotra top scored with 67 and wicket-keeper Rahul Avatar made 50. Yash Ramesh (49*) and Wewalwala Hewage Chanditha (39) then scored quick runs at the end to push their side to an imposing total. For Kibworth Dave Whitmore was the pick of the bowlers taking 2 for 23 from 8 overs.

Aadil Ali (46) top scored for Kibworth in their reply but when he fell the score was 95 for 4, two more quick wickets left the visitors 104 for 6 with Barrow in control. Rajneesh Kumar then returned the impressive figures of 3.2-1-4-4. Chanditha added to his 39 with four wickets.

Kegworth returned to winning ways as they beat Langtons. Kegworth batted first and made 220-8 from their 50 overs. Luke Woolley top scoring with 50. Langtons were then bowled out for 168 with wicket-keeper scoring 57. Academy leg-spinner James Dickinson impressed for Kegworth taking 4-21.

Leicester Ivanhoe made it back-to-back nine-wicket wins as they beat Market Harborough. Ivanhoe skipper Richard Durose won the toss and elected to field and his bowlers got to work.

Academy bowler Alex Evans took 3-18 from 9.5 overs, Jack Gilford, James Graham and Sam Evans each took two wickets and Mitch Carey was also on the scorecard. Harborough were bowled out for 132 with Josh Bott top-scoring with 42.

Ivanhoe were then in dominate form with the bat, Joe Kendall was unbeaten on 49, Evans made 46 and Harry Swindells posted 21 not out.

Lutterworth were back to winning ways as they put in a dominant display against Sileby. Lutterworth were put into bat after losing the toss, Wesley Marshall top-scored with 67, Craig Wilson made 66 and Will Blockley 41 saw Lutterworth to 276 for 9 from their 50 overs. Aaron Smith took 3 wickets for Sileby, conceding just 31 runs from his 10 overs.

Sileby got off to a solid start Dave Torr made 52 and Jigar Naik 50, however; only three other batsman reached double figures as the reigning champions fell to 185 all out. Alec Hill took 4-34 and Nathan Welham 3-24 to see their side to a comfortable victory.

Syston turned on the style as they put in a dominant display against Uppingham. Mo Pardesi was the star for Syston taking 4 for 11 from 8 overs and there was two wickets apiece for George Corbett, Ram Ghuman and Faizal Jariwala. Uppingham gave the visitors a scare when Tom Hynes took two early wickets leaving Syston at 9-2.

Ghuman and Charles Wootton initially settled the ship before Ghuman fell for 26. Aleem Mahmood joined Wootton and the pair saw their side home with a 66-run partnership.
