A bench in tribute to former Leicestershire CCC player and Chairman John Josephs is in place at the Fischer County Ground, Grace Road.
The plaque was unveiled by Harry’s son David Josephs and grandson Harry Josephs, and daughter Suzy Frith, during the first day of the Specsavers County Championship game against Sussex.
John enjoyed an association with the club lasting more than 60 years and a trophy awarded annually, for best individual performance in a First XI match, is named after him.
John had other sporting links with the city by playing and being secretary for Leicester Ivanhoe Cricket Club and was also a county squash champion.
He ran his own leather business in Leicester while also serving as a magistrate, and was also involved in running run St Wilfrid's Parish Church, in Kibworth Beauchamp.
The club was delighted to welcome David and Suzy to the FCG along with Harry, a marketing student who is currently undertaking a work placement with the club this summer.
