Aadil Ali leaves Leicestershire CCC

Leicestershire CCC has announced that batsman Aadil Ali has left the club by mutual consent after the expiration of his contract.

Academy graduate Aadil, who made his First XI debut fot the club in 2015, originally broke into the team in the Specsavers County Championship, and scored 639 first-class runs for the Foxes at an average of 26.62.

The 24-year-old then came into the Foxes side for white ball cricket as his Foxes career developed, scoring 339 runs at 22.50 in List A and 206 at 13.73 in 24 T20 appearances.

Aadil bowled both leg-spin and off-spin during his time at Leicestershire CCC, and enjoyed most successes in the T20 format with four wickets at 23.25 apiece.

He said: "I am thankful to everyone at Leicestershire County Cricket Club for everything that they have done for me, it's my boyhood club and it was a dream come true to play here.

"We have agreed that now is the time for me to leave and explore opportunities elsewhere. I wish the club every success in the future."

Head Coach Paul Nixon said: "Aadil came through the system here, and is a good person who has a lot to offer. However, we agree that now is the time for Aadil to have a change. We thank Aadil for his contribution to the Foxes and wish him well."
