Leicestershire CCC presented Muhammad Abbas with his county cap on the first day of the Specsavers County Championship game against Durham CCC.
Abbas, who has so far taken 40 Specsavers County Championship wickets at an average of under 21 runs apiece, was presented with the gold fox by Head Coach Paul Nixon at lunch today.
He has claimed five-wicket hauls on three occasions with a best return of six for 48 against Kent CCC in the Specsavers County Championship match at the Fischer County Ground last month.
The international star has been an outstanding performer for the club and also starred for Pakistan in the test series against England earlier this summer.
Abbas took ten wickets in the two test matches, including eight wickets at Lord’s, and has an incredible test match average of 17.69.
Nixon said: “We wanted to recognise the contribution of Mo [Muhammad Abbas] to the club this season. His performances have been world-class, and his influence on the team has been immense.
“He puts in a lot of hard work both on and off the field, and it was with pleasure that I was able to present Mo with the cap today. Mo has really earned his gold fox.”
