Ali plays well as Kibworth close in on title

Leicestershire CCC all-rounder Aadil Ali helped Kibworth to record a ninth successive victory as they closed in on the Everards League title.

Ali scored 68 not out in sharing an unbroken 168 with Pite van Biljoen - who struck an unbeaten century - as Kibworth racked up 271-2.

Syston Town were bowled out for 123 in reply as Bhavik Patel claimed 4-16. Ali finished with 1-20 from 8 overs as Kibworth moved 83 points clear of Sileby with six games to play.

Jigar Naik was in fine form for Sileby again while Harry Swindells also had a good game for Leicester Ivanhoe as the teams drew.

Sileby scored 241-9 with Naik posting 82 before Swindells made 68 in a reply that saw Ivanhoe close on 201-9. Eben Kurtz, who has played for Leicestershire Second XI, also recorded a half-century.

Lutterworth had three standout performers in an emphatic win against a Loughborough Town side that started the day in second place, including Leicestershire’s Lewis Hill.

Hill and Ollie Pickering both made fine centuries in a second wicket stand that yielded 232, Lutterworth going on to post 303-6 from their allocation despite two wickets for Ollie Freckingham and one for Tom Wells.

Loughborough were then bowled out for 96 in reply as George Terry produced a stunning performance of 6-43.

Leicestershire Academy trio Jack Nightingale (63), Yuvraj Odedra (42 not out) and Jayshal Chauhan (30 not out) were among the scorers for Barrow Town in a game that produced 510 runs for the loss of just seven wickets at Market Harborough.

Barrow posted 280-4 with captain Ramesh Kara and ‘keeper Rahul Avatar, who opened the batting, also making half-centuries. The hosts settled for a losing draw at 230-3 with fifties for Max Collins, Kevin Innes and matt Stokes, who has been playing for Leicestershire Second XI in 2016.

Academy all-rounder Will Fazackerley enjoyed a good game for Barkby United against Rothley Park, taking two wickets and then scoring 55 not out as the home side chased down a target of 222. Atif Sheikh took 1-41 from 9.1 overs for Rothley.

Hinckley Town/CCA won the derby at Earl Shilton by six wickets after bowling their hosts out for 113. Sukhvir Singh and Bilal Pardesi each took four wickets for Hinckley.

* Dieter Klein opened the batting and bowling as Lowerhouse won by five wickets at home to Todmorden in the Lancashire League. Klein took 2-48 from 14 overs and then scored 27.
