The Running Foxes kick-off their highly anticipated 2022 T20 Vitality Blast campaign with the visit of Durham on Thursday, 26 May, 2022.
Leicestershire Foxes fans will see the return of the 2021 T20 Vitality Blast leading wicket taker with Naveen ul Haq resuming his Leicestershire career after claiming a staggering 26 wickets last season.
The Afghanistan pace bowler also played his part in securing the signing of one of the world’s most exciting talents in white ball cricket; Rahmanullah Gurbaz.
Gurbaz was in red-hot form in 2021, after earning the Outstanding Batter of the Tournament award in the Abu Dhabi T10 League after recording 343 runs at a rate of 217.37 for the Delhi Bulls. This was after he opened the batting for Afghanistan in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup.
Gurbaz’ white ball campaign extended into the Lanka Premier League as he was drafted by Jaffna Kings, and is set to continue his T20 journey into the early part of 2022 with Islamabad United having drafted the wicketkeeper batter’s services for the 2022 Pakistan Super League.
