Annual Fireworks Evening Set for Record Attendance

With just a week to go, Leicestershire County Cricket Club has seen a huge demand for tickets for the upcoming annual Fireworks Evening and is set for a record attendance with ticket sales currently 30% up in comparison to the event in 2019.

The Club welcomed over 3,500 visitors to the launch event at the Uptonsteel County Ground in 2019, who enjoyed all the rides and attractions in the on-site family funfair as well as a range of food and drink stalls full of your fairground favourites. The evening was then topped off with a spectacular Fireworks & Laser show, performed to music.

Commenting on the popularity of one of Leicester’s biggest fireworks display, Head of Marketing and Consumer Sales, Jack Bradley, said: “To see the demand for our upcoming Fireworks Evening at the Uptonsteel County Ground shows how popular the event is going to be once again this year.

“We encourage anybody wishing to attend the display to book their tickets as soon as possible to avoid disappointment on the day if the event has sold out.”

This year’s on-site attractions include the spooky House of Terror, the thrilling Miami Chair and the heart-racing Twister, alongside classic fairground sweet stalls where you can gorge on sweet treats or the traditional candy floss, doughnuts and toffee apples. There will also be face painting & cricket skills activities taking place in the Mike Turner Cricket Centre.

The Club is delighted to announce that 75p from every adult ticket sold will be donated to local Leicestershire charity Alex’s Wish, who’s mission is to eradicate Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy, an aggressive form of Muscular Dystrophy that affects 1 in every 3,500 boys born. Every single muscle is destroyed due to a lack of protein.
