BBC Radio Leicester Cricket Special

Leicestershire County Cricket Club was at BBC Radio Leicester’s studio last night for an hour-long cricket special.

Chairman Paul Haywood, Chief Executive Wasim Khan MBE and Head Coach Andrew McDonald spoke about the season alongside commentator Richard Rae on an evening hosted by Ian Stringer.

A wide range of topics were covered, including matters both on and off the field, and the programme is available in its entirety HERE

There was also a focus on women’s cricket following the success of the team as promotion was gained to Division Two.

Leicestershire and Rutland Cricket Development Officer Tom Leonard, who coached the team, talked alongside key player Lucy Higham.

Lucy took 21 wickets this campaign and recently gained a place on the England Women’s Development Programme for 2015-16. Training for the squad will commence from October at the National Cricket Performance Centre (NCPC) in Loughborough.

We’d like to take this opportunity to thank BBC Radio Leicester’s sports team for the invitation and their fantastic coverage this season.
