Ben Slater recalled by Nottinghamshire CCC

Leicestershire County Cricket Club can announce that Ben Slater has been recalled back to the Nottinghamshire CCC squad.

Slater joined Leicestershire on an initial two-week period to play against Lancashire CCC and Derbyshire CCC in the Bob Willis Trophy Matches.

The batsman made history on his debut to hit a career-best score of 172 which also broke Leicestershire’s first-class score against Lancashire of 158 which was set by Willie Watson in 1961. Leicestershire went on to win the match by 7 wickets.

Leicestershire CCC Head Coach, Paul Nixon said: “Ben showed fantastic professionalism and fit into the squad really well.

I’d like to thank Ben for the part he played in our first match and to pass on my best wishes to him as he returns to Nottinghamshire”
