Busy weekend of action at Grace Road

Grace Road is prepared for a busy weekend of T20 action with NatWest Under 19s Finals Day on Saturday followed by the Lord’s Taverners City Cup on Sunday.

The first game on Saturday sees Ashby Strikers play Newbold Dragons (9.15am start) before Loughborough Cobras take on Houghton & Thurnby Hurricanes at 12.15pm. The final will then start at 3.45pm.

Entry into the ground to watch the Finals Day is free. There will be a bar, food and music as well as the cricket, so it will be a fun day for all of the family.

In the Lord’s Taverners City Cup Final the following day, Manchester take on Luton in what promises to be an exciting T20 game at 11.30am.

There is another T20 match after the final for the nominated best players from all the 12 cities involved. That match is scheduled to begin at 2.30pm. Entry to Grace Road is again free, so please come on down to support the players.

* As well as NatWest Under 19s T20 Finals Day on Saturday, there will also be a celebration event for Move it-Boom! The challenge, launched by Leicestershire Partnership NHS Trust at the beginning of July, has encouraged children and families to have fun getting active.

The winners were Tugby Church of England Primary School and a selection of 30 lucky pupils will receive a tour of Grace Road, an educational interactive session and be presented with their trophy.

There is also one last exciting challenge - pupils and teachers, as well as their families from all local schools, are now invited to take part in an attempt to break the Guinness World Record for the most number of star jumps completed in 60 seconds. The current record is 77 full jumps in 60 seconds.
