Leicestershire Academy batsman Leo Cammish was in excellent form for Earl Shilton in their rain-affected draw against Sileby Town in the Everards Premier Division.
Cammish scored 83 off 79 balls with seven fours and two maximums while Foxes batsman Ned Eckersley scored 39 in a Shilton score of 258-8.
Sileby’s Umar Afzal ended with 4-44 and the hosts were looking good in reply, making 177-2 before rain brought about a premature end to the game – one of four matches to suffer that fate.
Rothley Park were the only winners on the day, completing a fine 101-run victory against Barrow Town to claim 30 points and go joint top with Lutterworth.
Former Academy batsman Alex Kent posted 76 with Atif Sheikh chipping in with a quickfire 23 in a total of 237-7 before taking 1-26 when opening the bowling. Leicestershire Academy batsman Jack Nightingale top-scored with 31 for Barrow.
A 20-point haul was claimed by Syston Town, who posted 286-7 against Market Harborough thanks in large to former Academy player Charles Wootton’s 129.
Harborough’s Kevin Innes replied with a century of his own after previously claiming 2-18 from an unchanged ten-over opening spell as the visitors collected a losing draw by ending on 214-6.
Points were shared in other truncated fixtures. Craig Crowe (109) and Tammy Beaumont (91*) were in fine form for Hinckley Town/CCA, sharing 178 for the third wicket in a score of 250-5 against Loughborough Town. The visitors were 56-1 after seven overs when the game was abandoned.
Ivanhoe posted 209-7 with Jake Beaumont top-scoring on 69 before Pite van Biljoen’s unbeaten 55 had Kibworth in the box seats at 102-2 off 21 overs.
Only half a game was possible at Coventry Road. Lutterworth’s innings was reduced to 44 overs and Ollie Pickering batted through for 94 not out. Barkby were 37-1 after eight overs in reply.
