Celebrating the diversity of Leicestershire

Leicestershire County Cricket Club are proud to celebrate the diversity of the county through unifying nearly 40 different nationalities in a symbol of inclusivity.

By working with Face in the Crowd, Leicestershire CCC will display nearly 40 cut-outs of international flags to represent the different nationalities of those who live in Leicestershire.

According to 2011 census provided by Leicester City Council, there are over 50 different nationalities residing in the county, which makes the county incredibly diverse.

The cut-outs will be displayed side-by-side at the Fischer County Ground for the club’s upcoming Vitality Blast campaign. The fixtures are scheduled to be played behind closed doors, however the cut-outs symbolise bringing the people of Leicestershire together as the Foxes family.

Leicestershire CCC has one of the most diverse County Cricket boards in the country and has the first ever female Chair in the history of UK County Cricket.

The club’s Academy, has six players who are all from a BAME background with BAME representation increasing by 10% in Leicestershire’s Junior Pathway.

The club are encouraging the people of Leicestershire to come together as the foxes family by purchasing a cut-out of a picture of themselves which will be displayed at the Fischer County Ground. For more information, click here.
