Chauhan plays well for Barrow

Leicestershire Academy batsman Jayshal Chauhan scored 47 but Barrow Town suffered a six wicket defeat to Syston Town in the latest round of Everards Premier Division matches.

Academy Graduate George Corbett picked up three wickets as Barrow were dismissed for 196 before fellow former Academy player Ramandeep Ghuman scored 76 to steer Syston to victory.

Barkby completed a thrilling two-wicket win at home to Leicester Ivanhoe despite Academy bowler Aadil Rashid taking 3-32. The Flowers brothers played a key role for Barkby, captain Steve scoring 80 and Tom chipping in with 61.

Kibworth completed a seven wicket win against Hinckley Town/CCA, captain Matt Craven top-scoring with 47 after Darren Shaw had claimed 3-29.

Jake Gillett was the star in Sileby Town’s excellent seven wicket triumph at Loughborough Town, posting 78* after Sileby had restricted their hosts to 200-7.

Lutterworth claimed a winning draw against Market Harborough with Michael Turns playing the lead role. Turns scored 74 in a total of 214-9 and took 2-18 as Harborough closed on 180-9. Nathan Welham also chipped in with 3-25 off ten overs.

Irfan Karim, Aaron Smith and Phil Hackett were all in tremendous form as Rothley Park beat Earl Shilton by 174 runs.

Opener Karim scored 113 not out while Hackett claimed 5-34 and Smith took 4-25 as Shilton were dismissed for 64. Smith earlier hit 25* in an unbroken ninth wicket stand worth 42 with Karim in a Rothley total of 238-8.
