What does, ‘First Aid Trainers, A Collection of Cricket Umpires, Ladies that Lunch, Speedway Enthusiasts and a Traffic Exhibition’ have in common?
All are organisations using Leicestershire County Cricket Club’s Conferencing and Banqueting facilities in the leadup to Christmas.
Following the pandemic, Leicestershire CCC are delighted to see such huge demand for their facilities at the Uptonsteel County Ground.
Conference and Banqueting serves as a pivotal revenue stream for the Club during the winter months, and we found ourselves fortunate that were able to keep the Charles Palmer Suite, specifically, open for essential matters such as First Aid training throughout the pandemic.
The lift of the National lockdown in June 2021 then gave the Club further function of the Charles Palmer Suite provided it was not in use for home fixtures.
Commenting, Lindsey Jeffcoat, Assistant Catering Manager at Leicestershire CCC said: “Since our season has come to a close, combined with what feels like a growing confidence in the hospitality marketplace, we at the Uptonsteel County Ground are beginning to witness the return of bookings.â€
She added: “For us, here at the cricket club, our Conference and Banqueting offering is a crucial part of our business and the pandemic decimated a big revenue stream for us, so to see the return of events is great news for the Clubâ€.
Grace Road has a number of facilities ranging from our 200-strong Charles Palmer Suite which is perfect for large conferences or training seminars, to executive boxes that can accommodate from as little as four to as many as 12 for more intimate meetings.
The Charles Palmer Suite is much sought after at this time of year with the Club re-introducing their indulgent party nights to the non-cricketing calendar.
