Leicestershire County Cricket Club recently hosted the annual day in the life event for our partners and sponsors.
The day gives a priceless insight into the life of our professional cricketers, including the work they do in the gym and nets in the Mike Turner Indoor Cricket Centre.
It also allows our players to get a greater understanding of what our sponsors do in their day-to-day lives and that two-way relationship is massively important to us.
Our players and sponsors regularly work together – for example batsman Matthew Boyce had a work experience placement at Peter Wilcox Financial Management over the winter.
We also regularly use Official Club Partner De Montfort University’s Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Leisure Centre as part of our training. Six members of DMU's cricket team came along on the day.
Leicestershire batsman Ned Eckersley said: “We wanted all of our sponsors to enjoy the experience but also to show them exactly what we do on a daily basis, so everybody was put through their paces!
“We have to do a lot of physical work in the gym as well as technical work in the nets, so we ensured that we gave them the whole experience.
“It was good to meet all of our sponsors during the day and we look forward to seeing them at Grace Road throughout the summer. It is a new era at Leicestershire County Cricket Club so it is good to have so much support from the business community.”
