When we last met:
The two teams last met in the Vitality Blast several weeks ago at the Uptonsteel County Ground, with our visitors ending up 70 run winners.
Batting first, Derbyshire's effort of 159-5 was underpinned by Shan Masood (53, 43b) while some late runs from Leus du Plooy and Hayden Kerr also contributed.
In reply, the Running Foxes never got going and in a very disappointing batting performance, slumped to 89 all out with only Ben Mike passing 20.
This match gives us the perfect opportunity to put things right from that previous heavy loss.
Head to Head:
Lewis Hill vs Brooke Guest
Lewis Hill hit his season-best of 50 (34b) against Lancashire on Tuesday night, having been promoted to an unfamiliar number three role - responding with a superb performance. Having been arguably the Running Foxes best red ball batter in the last year and a half, it's great to see Hill making great contributions to the shorter format as well.
Opposition keeper Guest has also passed fifty once this season (54) and is averaging 19.80 at a strong strike rate just short of the 150 mark. Like Hill, he's grown into his role well this year and has been impressive as a lower-order hitter/finisher this season.
The battle of the wicketkeepers will be fascinating, and another half-century from either player should set their team up for a strong total on Thursday night.
Head Coach Paul Nixon names a 13-man squad for our trip to face the Falcons.
Squad: Ackermann *, Ahmed, Davis, Hill +, Kimber, Lilley, Mike, Naveen, Parkinson, Patel, Rutherford, Steel, Walker.
