Leicestershire County Cricket Club would like to apologise for any inconvenience caused due to floodlight testing this week.
Work being conducted at the ground is absolutely vital to ensure that all of the floodlight bulbs are in the correct place so that they will not cause spillage into surrounding streets.
Testing is being conducted in two phases, firstly to check that all the individual bulbs work with their placement on the square. That work was carried out and completed last night.
The second phase of testing, scheduled for tonight, is to test 250 specific spots for the outfield and the surrounding streets around the ground.
The lights will be switched on by 9pm and testing is due to finish at approximately 11pm. The floodlights will then take a short period of time to turn off completely.
We hope that work will be completed tonight, but if the testing is not fully completed, a further test is scheduled for tomorrow evening.
Leicestershire County Cricket Club would like to confirm that we will not have flood lights on this late for any NatWest T20 Blast fixture. They will be dimmed by 50% straight after a game, approximately at 9.30pm, and then switched off soon after.
