Leicestershire CCC was delighted to welcome back a host of familiar faces as part of the club's Former Players Day on Sunday.
Chairman Paul Haywood and Board Director Robin Matthews welcomed back our former players on the first day of the Specsavers County Championship fixture against Kent.
They were joined by Jack Birkenshaw, Matthew Boyce, Peter Booth, Nigel Briers, John Carter, Geoff Coe, Russell Cobb, Bernie Cromack, Barry Dudleston, Freddie Foulds, John Harrop, Geoff Hickinbottom, George Knew, Eddie Phillips, John Steele, Terry Spencer and Don Munden.
The event took place in the Illingworth Suite, where many memories and stories were shared as Leicestershire CCC and Kent CCC played out an interesting opening day.
Other connections on the day were provided by Leicestershire CCC coaching duo Paul Nixon and John Sadler, while Kent CCC’s Darren Stevens was on the field for the majority of Sunday’s play.
We thank our former players and their families for making the event a huge success and hope that they enjoyed the day with us.
