Foxes offer T20 variety

Leicestershire County Cricket Club is committed to improving the matchday experience at the Fischer County Ground, Grace Road.

We have listened to suggestions made through surveys and correspondence to the club and are introducing some new food and drink selections for the 2016 season.

Our food options have great variety and we are also introducing children’s portions/individual menus, more vegetarian choice and lots of healthy food options. We are sourcing fresh, local produce to give you the best possible catering experience when you come to watch games at our venue.

A new outlet is the Spice Bazzar Street Food stall within the George Geary Stand. The award-winning Welford Road restaurant is bringing a wonderful taste of India to the Fischer County Ground, Grace Road in 2016.

Lots of mouthwatering dishes will be available including hot lamb, chicken & vegetable dosas and freshly made meat & vegetarian samosas.

The popular Charles Palmer buffet returns on selected matchdays with a variety of food options including BBQ pulled pork and fresh coleslaw, Katchicks of Loughborough seasoned pork sausages & red onions in brioche hot dog rolls, and chicken or vegetarian Balti with pilau rice, naan bread and pickles.

A hog roast will be served in the Bennett End Beer Garden and there will also be a tasty vegetarian option of field mushroom, tomato and mozzarella in a brioche bun. The hog roast will be provided by butchers Joseph Morris, who source all livestock from the local farming community. The business was established in 1930 and is now in its third generation.

At the Pavilion End, in the former Players Car Park, there will be a variety of street food offerings that will differ game by game, including German cuisine and tex-mex food.

The children’s area will have plenty of hot snacks and drinks available and we are also introducing a brand new sweet cart which will provide treats for the whole family.

Hot and cold food will again be available on the first floor of the Meet, which also offers a good view of the action.

To avoid large queues on NatWest T20 Blast matchdays, the club is extending the Park Hill Drive bar, introducing two new “pop up” bars (Bennett End Beer Garden & behind the Family Stand), and installing bars in the Players Car Park and the George Geary Stand.

There will also be a different range of beverages available in 2016. All main bars will be selling Fosters Lager, Marston’s Pedigree and Kingstone Press Cider together with soft drinks, and red, white & rose wine by the glass. Children’s Fruit Shoots & juices will also be available. The Fox Bar now serves Marston’s EPA from the cask and there are other guest ales to follow.

As part of Leicestershire CCC’s promise to helping the environment, all bars will now operate with reusable Leicestershire Foxes recyclable cups. These limited edition, specially designed pint pots can be brought for £1 when buying your drink. They can be taken home as a souvenir of your night, or you can return the glass when finished to collect your £1 back.
