We are looking forward to welcoming New Zealand to Grace Road for the 50-over tourist game, sponsored by Imperial Corporate Events, this Saturday (June 6, 10.30am start).
Black Caps international Grant Elliott is a link between the teams, given he is a key member of the Foxes NatWest T20 Blast side and an important part of New Zealand’s ODI plans.
The batsman was magnificent in the ICC World Cup as he made scores in the eighties in the semi-final against South Africa and the final versus Australia.
Elliott’s experience has already been invaluable in the Foxes dressing room and he is now looking forward to a swift return to Grace Road with his international teammates.
“As soon as I signed for the Foxes and got the call-up to the New Zealand squad, I’ve been really looking forward to the summer,” he said.
“The timing in terms of playing T20 for Leicestershire and the ODI series for New Zealand against England has been good. NatWest T20 Blast has helped me to prepare for the conditions I will face in the ODIs, and the ODIs can then help me to prepare for the rest of the Blast.”
New Zealand’s one-day squad also includes exciting batsmen Brendon McCullum, Martin Guptill, Kane Williamson and Ross Taylor, so the game promises to be a fascinating affair.
Tickets for the fixture are available for the advance price of £13 adults and £3 for under 16s online HERE or by calling Membership and Ticket Sales Executive Jack Bradley on 0116 245 2401.
