Foxes trio heading for ICC World T20

Leicestershire CCC is pleased to announce that Niall O’Brien, Kevin O’Brien and Rob Taylor will be travelling to India for the ICC World T20 tournament in March.

The O’Brien brothers will be representing Ireland for a fifth successive ICC World T20 tournament and Taylor is part of Scotland's 15-man squad for the qualification fixtures which start on March 8.

Ireland has been drawn in Group A alongside the Netherlands, Oman and Bangladesh, and Scotland will take on Hong Kong, Afghanistan and Zimbabwe in Group B.

The winners of each group qualify for the Super 10 stage, with Ireland potentially facing Pakistan, India, Australia and New Zealand and Scotland potentially playing England, South Africa, Sri Lanka and West Indies.

Both countries are looking forward to the challenge that is in store. Ireland Head Coach John Bracewell told www.cricketireland.ie “The squad has got a real balance to it, with that blend of youth and experience that every coach likes. Ireland are now regular performers on the world stage so there’s no fear or intimidation factors.”

Scotland Head Coach Grant Bradburn told www.cricketscotland.com "It is great to be announcing an extremely strong and well balanced T20 squad for India. We have an excellent mix of youth and experience across the squad, with every player offering dynamic specific skills in this format.”
