Freckingham in the runs

By Sam Chambers

Leicestershire's Ollie Freckingham posted a useful score of 41 but couldn't help to prevent Loughborough Town falling to a six-wicket loss at home to joint-leaders Syston.

Razzaq was in good form with both bat and ball for Syston, scoring 47 after his 3-32 helped to limit Loughborough to 120 all out in the latest round of Everards Premier League matches.

Level-pegging with Syston at the league's summit are Sileby, who cruised to an eight-wicket victory at home to Lutterworth.

Matt Ellis's devastating bowling performance was key to the leaders' triumph, his extraordinary return of 6-7 going a long way to restricting the visitors to 61 all out.

Sileby chased down their target inside 10 overs with Dave Torr's quickfire 34 from 18 balls helping them along.

Sileby and Syston now turn their attention to a crucial top-of-the-table meeting this Saturday.

Leicestershire Academy batsman Leo Cammish made 56 and Josh Payne hit an unbeaten 74 as Earl Shilton finished with a respectable 248-6, but that was not enough to prevent Market Harborough from landing a victory.

Kevin Innes and Zain Mir top-scored 67 and 63 not out respectively after Sam Williams (49) and Tom Leonard (47) shared 94 for the second wicket.

The result meant that Harborough climbed above Loughborough and Barkby United into fourth spot after they claimed a seven-wicket success at Earl Shilton.

Champions Kibworth sit in third after beating Rothley Park by a 36-run margin. Charlie Page-Morris struck 51 before being dismissed by Leicestershire's Atif Sheikh as Kibworth made 223-8.

In reply, Rothley fell to 187 all out despite some big hitting from Ben Aspell who made 40 from as many balls. Six Kibworth bowlers shared the wickets, Monik Patel the pick of the attack with 3-18.

Barrow Town enjoyed a winning draw for a second consecutive week away at Barkby, who slipped from fourth place to sixth as a result.

After being put in by the hosts, Barrow were 230 all out with Rahul Avatar (60) and Sardeep Salgotra (68) both posting half-centuries at the top of the order. Tom Flowers hit a superb 114 not out as Barkby closed on 192-9 in reply.

Hinckley romped to a huge 196-run win at home to Leicester Ivanhoe that lifted them out of the drop-zone.

Opener Craig Crowe's 59 and Will Hunt's 67 inspired Hinckley to a formidable 259, before Sukhvir Singh, making his bow for the season, took a wicket with the fist ball of the Ivanhoe innings.

He followed that up with two more scalps, eventually finishing with impressive figures of 3-9, while ex-Ivanhoe spinner Janak Valand took four wickets for a solitary run as Ivanhoe managed just 63 in response.
