Fundraisers for the Tour de Foxes charity bike-ride are gearing up for the Club's inaugural charity bike ride on Sunday, July 18.
The 80-mile route will start and end at the Uptonsteel County Ground with funds raised for the Leicestershire CCC Foundation, of which two local charities will benefit, Alex's Wish and Healing Little Hearts.
With preparation well underway, let’s hear from some of the riders who are completing their training programmes ready to take on the challenge.
Elaine Pickering, Leicestershire CCC Academy Administrator said: “Cricket is very close to my heart. I have worked at Leicestershire CCC for twenty years, both of my boys were involved in and benefited greatly from the Leicestershire Young Cricketers system and I am also secretary at my local Club; Dunton Bassett, and a Trustee at Lutterworth CC.
"I am, therefore, really pleased to be able to raise some funds for the LCCC Foundation. My training has gone well and I am hoping I have done enough to get me round the 80 miles on Sunday.â€

CCC are proud to have three staff members participating in the challenge.
The riders have so far raised more than £2,500 collectively towards the LCCC Foundation.
After completing the ride, the Club have donated hospitality to the riders for the T20 Vitality Blast match against Worcestershire Rapids, which takes place at 6:30pm on Sunday, July 18.
LCCC Head of Community, Mark Barber said: "To think that the Tour de Foxes bike ride is taking place this Sunday is incredible, I cannot believe how quickly it has come around. I’m delighted to be able to take part in the ride and help to raise funds for the LCCC Foundation. To be able to add to the pot that will support Alex’s Wish, Healing Little Hearts, the LCCC Academy and Grassroots cricket Clubs is fantastic and something I’m incredibly proud to be involved in.
"Cricket has given me so much reward though my life having been involved as a player, coach, administrator and general volunteer since I was 9 years old. It is an honour to be in a position to give back to the cricketing community and support the two wonderful charities.
"It’s set to be a scorcher so hopefully the Leicestershire cricket family can be out in force willing us on throughout the ride, I know I would have liked to have done a little more training, so I for one will need all the support I can get!â€
Leicestershire County Cricket Club, CEO, Sean Jarvis said: "With our inaugural charity bike ride just around the corner, it is amazing to see how much support we have already received. With over £2,500 already raised is unbelievably generous and will make such a difference to the four beneficiaries.
"We are delighted to be able to provide some much needed hospitality to the riders who will be taking part and look forward to seeing a full house ready for the Vitality Blast fixture against Worcestershire Rapids that evening."
