George Rhodes to Depart After 2022 Campaign

Leicestershire County Cricket Club can today (23 June) confirm that George Rhodes will leave the Club at the end of the season upon the expiry of his contract.

Following discussions, both parties have reached a mutual agreement to allow the 28-year-old to pursue other opportunities.

All-rounder Rhodes joined Leicestershire in August 2019 from Worcestershire, making his debut the following month in our County Championship Division Two fixture against Northamptonshire at Grace Road.

Rhodes said: “I would like to thank the Club, the fans, and the players at Leicestershire, as I have thoroughly enjoyed my time at the Club and have relished the opportunity to represent the Foxes.
“I still have a desire to play this season in the 50 over competition and look forward to the possibility of showing what I can do if such an opportunity arises.”

LCCC Director of Cricket, Claude Henderson, said: “George has been a fantastic ambassador both on and off the pitch for Leicestershire from the moment he arrived.

“We thank George for his contribution, and we will do whatever we can to support him in exploring other opportunities.”
