'Go Wild' on Family Fun Day at the UCG

Get ready to ‘Go Wild’ at Uptonsteel County Ground this Sunday (14 Aug), as we launch this year’s theme for the ever-popular Family Fun Day.

As the perfect sporting family occasion placed in the height of the school summer holidays, the Foxes will be hosting the fan-favourite day alongside our Royal London Cup fixture against Warwickshire, with tickets priced at just £1.

Kids will have the chance to explore a range of engaging exotic activities between 11am and 4pm, including jungle dance sessions in the Fan Zone and live animal displays in the Mike Turner Cricket Centre.

Up to 15 different species of wild animals, including reptiles, birds of prey, arachnids and snakes, will be on display either side of the lunch interval.

The Foxes Den will be open throughout the day, where our professional coaching staff will be running different activities for our young fans to try out and learn new cricket skills.

There will also be a bouncy castle and slides in the Den, while arts and crafts activities will be housed in the marquee located next to the manual scoreboard.

During the 45-minute innings interval, fans will be able to enter the hallowed Grace Road turf and emulate their heroes with bat and ball on the outfield, while Charlie Fox will also take to the pitch to snap a selfie or two.

Supporters can soak up the matchday atmosphere in our Fan Zone with local DJ entertainment, while food and drink outlets offering pizzas, hog roasts, sweets and ice creams will all be available.

The occasion will be adorned by the backdrop of Leicestershire’s 50-over fixture with Warwickshire, as the Foxes look to back up a strong start, which has seen the team earn two wins from three in the opening week of the competition.

Jack Bradley, Head of Marketing and Consumer Sales at LCCC, said: “We are really excited to bring back our popular Family Fun Day with a fresh theme for this year.
“It is the perfect opportunity for families to come down and enjoy engaging activities across the ground, as well as having the chance to watch the Foxes in action.”
