Leicestershire CCC is delighted to announce that seamer Gavin Griffiths has signed a new contract to extend his stay until at least the end of the 2019 season.
The 24-year-old seamer made his first-class debut in 2017 and produced a number of impressive performances, including in the Royal London One-Day Cup.
Griffiths was the club’s joint leading wicket-taker in the 50-over competition with 10 victims claimed at an average of 27.40 apiece.
All told, Griffiths took 23 wickets in a first season with the Foxes where he was a virtual ever-present in the T20 Blast side that reached the quarter-finals.
Griffiths said: “I really enjoyed my first year with Leicestershire and I’m happy to commit my future to the club. It was great to make my first-class debut and play lots of games for the Foxes, and I am already looking forward to the new season.”
Leicestershire CCC Head Coach Paul Nixon said: “Gavin is a bowler who has great skills in all three formats of the game. Gavin trains extremely hard, always setting a good example to the other players, and it’s great to have him with us for the next two seasons.”
