Leicestershire CCC is delighted to announce that Harry Dearden and Dieter Klein have signed new contracts with the club.
Batsman Dearden has penned a new two-year deal while left arm seamer Klein has furthered his Foxes stay by another season.
Dearden, who made his Foxes debut at the start of the 2017 season, opened the batting for the Foxes in the Royal London One-Day Cup alongside both Paul Horton and Mark Cosgrove.
The left-hander quickly made an impression as he posted a career-best List A score of 91 in a 38-run win against Worcestershire Rapids at the Fischer County Ground.
The 2019 Specsavers County Championship season saw him earn himself a fine half-century at the Home of Cricket in the rain-affected draw with Middlesex CCC.
Dearden has posted a total of 1,269 first-class runs for Leicestershire CCC, including five fifties, as well as 341 List A runs at 34.10 and a further 228 in T20 cricket.
Seamer Klein has been a solid performer for the Foxes since making his debut in 2016. He has taken 58 first-class wickets including a best of six for 80 against Northamptonshire CCC.
Klein played a big part in the Foxes’ Vitality Blast campaign and all told, has claimed 33 white ball wickets for the club.
He has also contributed significantly with the bat in Leicestershire CCC colours, including scores of 94 against Glamorgan CCC and 87 at Lancashire CCC.
Dearden said: “I’m happy to sign a new contract and really excited to see what the next two years has in store for me and the club.”
Klein added: “I have loved every minute of being at Leicestershire County Cricket Club and look forward to that continuing. I am really looking forward to the 2020 season.”
Leicestershire CCC Head Coach Paul Nixon said: “We’re really pleased that Harry and Dieter are extending their contracts with us. They both have an important role to play here in all competitions."
