Hendricks Receives Hundred Call

Leicestershire CCC left-arm seamer Beuran Hendricks will miss the Foxes’ East Midlands Derby with Nottinghamshire on Saturday after being snapped up by Southern Brave for a stint in The Hundred.

The South African has been drafted in by the defending champions as a temporary replacement for Craig Overton while the all-rounder is on England duty with the Test squad.

Hendricks will be in contention for an immediate debut, entering the Brave’s squad for tonight’s (18 Aug) fixture against Manchester Originals at The Ageas Bowl.

The 32-year-old will stay with the franchise for their next fixture on Monday (22 Aug) at Welsh Fire, before he is scheduled to return to the Foxes for their final Royal London Cup group stage match against Durham at Uptonsteel County Ground (23 Aug).

Hendricks has starred with the ball for Leicestershire during the competition, with only two bowlers taking more than the 13 wickets he’s claimed at 20.38, which has helped the Foxes to top Group A with five wins from six matches.

The overseas star will become the fifth Running Foxes player to represent a franchise in this summer’s edition, following in the footsteps of Colin Ackermann, Callum Parkinson, Rehan Ahmed and Ben Mike.
