Leicestershire County Cricket Club is pleased to announce that Lewis Hill has extended his contract to keep him at the Fischer County Ground until at least the end of the 2018 season.
Hill has made a big impression when playing for the First XI including posting his maiden first-class century when opening against a strong Surrey attack at the Kia Oval in 2015.
The 25-year-old is performing well in NatWest T20 Blast in 2016; Hill currently tops the averages with 157 runs at 39.25 at a hugely impressive strike rate of 150.66. His innovative style has caught the eye with a number of ramp shots and reverse sweeps entertaining the crowd.
Hill took that good form into the Royal London One-Day Cup, top-scoring with an impressive half-century against Yorkshire Vikings.
He has also been a safe pair of hands behind the stumps. Hill took one stunning catch during the Derbyshire Falcons NatWest T20 Blast, running towards the boundary edge and diving full length to dismiss dangerman Wes Durston.
Hill came through the system at the club, playing for the Academy, and is an inspirational figure to youngsters at Lutterworth Cricket Club.
Leicestershire CCC Elite Performance Director Andrew McDonald said: “Lewis has done extremely well for us and it will be good to have him continue his progress with the club. Lewis has demonstrated that he can play in all three formats of the game and we’re pleased that he’s extended his stay with us.”
