Hill extends stay with Foxes

Leicestershire CCC is delighted to announce that wicket-keeper/batsman Lewis Hill has committed his future to the club until at least the end of the 2020 season.

Leicester-born Hill, who came through the flourishing Academy at Leicestershire CCC, has penned a two-year extension to his current contract.

The 27-year-old is closing in on 1,000 first-class runs for the club and has also scored 677 runs in white ball cricket.

Hill has become a key part of the Foxes side in all formats in a variety of roles, including batting in a number of different positions, and either keeping wicket or being an asset in the field.

Leicestershire CCC Head Coach Paul Nixon said: “Lewis [Hill] has worked incredibly hard on his game over the winter and is an important part of our squad here. He is extremely passionate about his batting, wicket-keeping and the club, and it is great news that he has signed a new contract with us.

“Lewis is an absolute pleasure to work with and I look forward to him continuing his progression with us here at the Fischer County Ground.”

Hill said: “Leicestershire County Cricket Club is my hometown team and it is an honour to play my cricket here. I’ve learnt a lot working with Nico [Paul Nixon] and the coaches on a daily basis and it was an easy decision to extend my contract by another two years.”
