Inglis Eligible for Upcoming Championship Fixtures

Leicestershire County Cricket Club (LCCC) can confirm that Josh Inglis is eligible to play in the two upcoming LV= County Championship fixtures against Somerset CCC (July 4) and Middlesex CCC (July 11).

This comes after an explosive Vitality Blast campaign for the wicket-keeper batsman who currently sits atop the Running Foxes’ scoring charts with 371 runs, including a career-T20 best of 103*, recorded in the victory against Northamptonshire Steelbacks at the County Ground, Northampton.

Inglis will join fellow Australian, Marcus Harris, in the Foxes’ batting line-up, with Harris having made an impressive start to his stay in Leicestershire, having recorded 557 runs so far, at an average of 61.88 and a high score of 185.

Paul Nixon, Head Coach at LCCC was delighted to add Inglis to the red-ball ranks and said: “To be able to add Josh [Inglis] to our batting line up for the upcoming Championship fixtures is fantastic.

“He has had an incredible Blast campaign with us and hopefully he can carry that form over into the fixtures against Somerset and Middlesex.”

The Running Foxes currently sit fifth in Group Two and entered the Blast campaign on the back of two successive Championship fixtures.

All is to play for as just 26 points separate Somerset in top spot and Leicestershire in fifth with the two final group stage games looming.
