Jones to leave Leicestershire CCC

Leicestershire County Cricket Club has announced that seam bowler Richard Jones will not be offered a new contract.

Jones signed for the club from Warwickshire CCC during the 2016 season after enjoying two successful loan spells at the Fischer County Ground.

The 31-year-old seamer claimed 24 wickets across all three formats for the Foxes including a best return of five for 34 against Lancashire Lightning in T20.

Leicestershire CCC Head Coach Paul Nixon said: “It is never easy when you make a decision not to offer a new contract. We thank Richard for his efforts and wish him all the best for the future.”
