Syston Town landed a terrific 7-wicket Everards Leicestershire and Rutland Premier League win at Sileby Town, chasing down a target of 275 to knock their opponents off top spot.
Opener Dave Torr (92) was again in the runs for Sileby while ex-Leicestershire spinner Jigar Naik scored 47, former Academy all-rounder George Corbett shining for the visitors by snaring 5-45.
Syston had a number of good contributions as they had a solid chase including half-centuries for Umar Razzaq, Charles Wootton and Daniel Vernon, and 44 for Ramandeep Ghuman.
The result ensured that Syston leapfrogged Sileby, who are now in fourth position after four games of the season.
Kegworth Town are the new leaders as George Scottorn and Alex Fletcher made key contributions with both bat and ball in an absorbing low-scoring contest at Lutterworth.
The home side were dismissed for 108 as Scottorn and Fletcher took 6-33 from their combined 20 overs while Academy spinner James Dickinson took 2-42.
Kegworth were wobbling at 55-6 before Scottorn (34*) joined forces with Fletcher, who ended 26 not out, to put on an unbroken seventh wicket stand worth 54.
Kibworth moved into second place after racing to a nine-wicket success at Leicester Ivanhoe, Pite van Biljoen smashing 17 fours and a brace of maximums in posting 100 not out in a score of 146-1. James Kirkham (53 not out) earlier top-scored for Ivanhoe.
There was a thrilling game at Enderby where the hosts were bowled out for 188 in pursuit of 191 against Barrow Town. Sardeep Salgotra made a key contribution, claiming 5-27 to ensure the hosts fell short despite a fine 50 from Leicestershire’s Callum Parkinson.
Foxes all-rounder Will Fazakerley (10-0-47-2) bowled well for Barkby United but Hamzah Khan smashed an unbeaten 158 and Sam Ward struck 82 as Rothley Park amassed 339-4. Adil Mehmood then took 7-22 as Barkby were bowled out for 165, Fazakerley making 32.
Joe Kendall's century underpinned Market Harborough's score of 312-4 against Loughborough Town. Former Fox Rob Taylor and Jake Bindley made scores in the 60s before Kevin Innes (4-15) shone with the ball, Loughborough bowled out for 208 as Andy Rishton top-scored with 88.
