Kibworth took a massive step towards the title with one of the season’s most impressive victories in the Everards Premier League.
The leaders responded to a rare defeat by cantering to a nine-wicket success at home to Barrow Town in the latest round of fixtures.
Tom Bailey had remarkable figures of 4-1 as Barrow were skittled for 43 and Kibworth chased down the runs briskly, meaning the match finished inside 29 overs.
Kibworth now need just one maximum point victory to make mathematically certain of winning the league following the other results on Saturday.
Loughborough Town and Lutterworth, who started the day as Kibworth’s closest rivals, claimed 8 and 6 points respectively from draws.
An opening stand of 166 between ‘keeper Irfan Karim (116 not out) and Richard Williams (85) set Rothley Park on the way to 254-4 against Loughborough.
The home side closed on 210-9 despite a half-century from opener Anish Patel and a battling last wicket partnership between Nil Patel (13* off 38 balls) and Paul Fisher (8* off 23 balls)
Lutterworth were also hanging on after fifties for Will Hunt and Ben Silver helped Hinckley Town/CCA score 232-9. Lutts closed on 146-9 with some late order resistance after Aleem Mahmood took 5-25.
Barkby leapfrogged Lutterworth into third place after a superb nine-wicket win against Market Harborough. Rob Taylor scored 71 for the visitors but Tom Flowers (94*) and Jack Wilkinson (71*) batted beautifully together to see Barkby to a 25-point success.
Leicester Ivanhoe emerged victorious after a remarkable game with Earl Shilton Town. Former Worcestershire and Surrey all-rounder Aneesh Kapil scored 86 and useful late order contributions from Josh Blunt (31) and Lee Hunt (37) saw Ivanhoe up to 216-9.
Earl Shilton looked well on their way at 207-4 after Kyle Chamberlain and Sharjeel Butt posted fifties but they lost their final six wickets for just three runs as Ivanhoe landed a crucial win.
In the other game in the Premier Division, Syston Town won by five wickets at Sileby Town. Jake Gillett top-scored for the home side with 47 while George Corbett returned figures of 2-24 from ten overs for Syston.
Gillett then claimed two wickets but a half-century from Charles Wootton was a key part of the chase.
