Leicestershire CCC is to bring back its popular ‘Kids Go Free’ initiative for the visit of England’s Under 19 side next month.
The Under 19 World Cup finalists are set to take on Sri Lanka in a potential series-decider at Uptonsteel County Ground on Saturday, 10 September, with the Club offering free entry to all under 16s.
It’s the second time the Club has launched the initiative for international cricket this summer, having granted similar access to England Women’s ODI with South Africa in July.
Rising star Rehan Ahmed could feature at Grace Road, with the Running Foxes’ all-rounder establishing himself as a key part of Richard Dawson’s side over the past 12 months.
The 18-year-old played a pivotal role in guiding England to the U19 World Cup in February, taking a dozen wickets at an average of just 12.58. Ahmed has since gone on to further international honours, making his Lions debut against South Africa in July.
LCCC Academy’s has had further representation in the Under 19s set up of late, with Academy star Josh Hull selected to play in a warm-up game for an England Select XI vs Sri Lanka’s side earlier this month, while Head of Talent Pathway Jigar Naik was chosen as Assistant Coach.
Tickets, priced at £5 for adults and FREE for U16s, can be purchased through the Club website HERE, as well as through LCCC’s official app and Curzon Road ticket office.
