Leicestershire CCC is happy to announce the signing of left arm seamer Dieter Klein on a deal until the end of the 2017 season.
Klein recently took five wickets for the club’s Second XI in their draw against MCC Universities at Desborough Town CC and was registered ahead of the Royal London One-Day Cup match against Lancashire Lightning.
He performed well in that game, taking two wickets as the team landed an excellent 131-run victory at the Fischer County Ground.
The 27-year-old has a very impressive first-class record, claiming 154 first-class wickets at an average of 25.99 and also has four half-centuries to his name in that format.
Klein’s white ball record is also good, the seamer having taken 34 wickets in List A and T20 cricket combined at an average under 22.
Leicestershire CCC Elite Performance Director Andrew McDonald said: “Dieter comes with a good pedigree and greatly impressed when playing in our Second XI and training with us. We’re delighted to have him on board to bolster our bowling roster.”
