The Running Foxes re-launched the Foundation arm of the Club; the LCCC Foundation with a view to raising money throughout the year for four amazing causes through a variety of fundraising events.
The causes are the Club’s two nominated charities; Alex’s Wish and Healing Little Hearts, along with the Club’s Academy and a ring-fenced pot that will go to supporting grassroots cricket clubs within the Leicestershire and Rutland area, and any monies raised would be split equally between these four causes.
The Foundations’ first fundraising initiative began in November 2020, where the Club encouraged people of all ages to get involved and run, walk or cycle the same distance a cricketer would travel if they scored 100 runs in a match – this was roughly one mile per day.
The initiative saw more than 50 people sign up to the Leicestershire CCC’s official #CenturyADay Strava group alone, and cover an incredible amount of distance between them. The Running Foxes fundraisers covered various locations from Leicestershire up to Newcastle and everywhere in-between.
Due to technical difficulties a fundraising page wasn't available for the start of the initiative however, the Club’s official JustGiving page is now up and running and available to make donations directly to the LCCC Foundation. Whether you have donations from your #CenturyADay efforts or you just want to support the four outlined causes - you now have the opportunity to make a difference.
Once again, we owe a huge thanks to all of your incredible efforts during our first fundraising initiative, #CenturyADay, and a huge thanks in advance to those who donate to the LCCC Foundation.
