LCCC link up with Rainbows

Rainbows Hospice for Children and Young People has been bowled over with support from Leicestershire County Cricket Club, who have announced that Rainbows are this season’s Official Charity Partner.

There will be no boundaries for the Leicestershire Foxes who will work with Rainbows for the next year, carrying out a range of activities to help raise funds and awareness of the Loughborough-based hospice.

Rainbows currently cares for 369 children and young people with life-limiting or terminal illnesses as well as supporting 341 bereaved families and 677 siblings, including those from Leicestershire.

Jasmine Chauhan, Marketing Manager for Leicestershire CCC, said: “We’re delighted to be supporting Rainbows this season. When we visited the hospice, we were overwhelmed by the amazing way the staff go above and beyond to make sure the families can make the most of the time they have together.

“We are proud to have Rainbows as our Official Charity Partner and look forward to helping raise the profile of this amazing organisation.”

During the year, players will visit Rainbows to meet children, young people and their families as well as learning more about the work of the hospice. The youngsters who benefit from the care and support of Rainbows will also visit the Fischer County Ground.

Alongside this, there will be designated Rainbows donation days and some of the players will wear the charity’s logo on their shirts.

Andrew Ball, Director of Income Generation at Rainbows, said: ““Everyone at Rainbows is delighted to have been chosen to be Leicestershire County Cricket Club’s charity partner.

"We know just what a difference the club, the players and supporters will be making to local lives this coming season and we look forward to the year ahead.”
