LCCC’s Future Fox Fund continues superb work

Leicestershire CCC Academy have continued their fundamental work behind-the-scenes in providing the underprivileged with access to the game.

The Future Fox Fund is a new initiative for 2022 thanks to the support of the LCCC Foundation and also some investment from supporters within the club. It consists of a ring-fenced reserve that is used to ensure that cost is not a barrier between the Club and it’s Academy members, so that training and development programs can be delivered without prejudice against those short of money.

The Future Fox Fund can be received in multiple ways, whether it comes in the form of coaching fees, purchasing kit or travelling to and from training and fixtures.

This scheme has been a fundamental part of the LCCC Academy training program to make certain that the game is delivered to and includes as many young cricketers in the county as possible.

The fund is something that is available to those who are already involved within the Academy age group squads of either the girls or boys pathway at the Uptonsteel County Ground.

Head of Academy, Alastair Maiden commented: “Leicestershire CCC has a history and heritage of producing players that go on to represent the Club and country.

“At Leicestershire we have an ambition to be the #AcademyOfCricket, where players are always progressing and developing and we are passionate, that as a family club, we care for our community and our players.”

He added: “This fund is in place to provide grants to players who need it the most so that they can participate in the county program and fulfil their potential.

“It is aimed at supporting players who without our help would not be able to participate fully.”

The Future Fox Fund has helped numerous young cricketers in recent years and the program has already started taking effect for the 2022 season.

Many young cricketers over a number of years have been supported with the waiving of fees if they cannot afford them. This has not previously been publicised.

For 2022 onwards the Club are making everyone aware of the availability of this fund if involved within the Academy pathway system.
