Leicestershire CCC shower thanks on Pochin

Leicestershire’s county cricketers are showering thanks on the bathroom retailer and plumbing supplier Pochin for completing revamping the bathrooms in the Grace Road pavilion.

The players’ facilities had seen better days until Pochin stepped in to project manage a makeover and provide sparkling new pools, sinks and showers.

Pochin, which has showrooms and trade counters across Leicestershire, enlisted the help of fellow local companies TD Mechanical Services of Leicester and Transform Interiors of Broughton Astley.

As well as creating two areas from one, to give the home and away teams separate facilities, Pochin installed new plunge pools to help players recover after hours at the crease or in the field.

Ready in time for the new season, which begins in earnest on April 12 with an LV=County Championship match at Grace Road against Glamorgan, the new showers are already a winner with the players.

Fast bowler Atif Sheikh said: “After a long day of cricket we all want to freshen up and Pochin has done a great job. We are looking forward to using the showers, and whilst not a fan of the ice cold plunge pool, it is great to have.”

Atif was joined by fellow squad members Zak Chappell and Rob Sayer to welcome and thank Pochin directors Stuart Press, who project managed the work, and David Pochin.

David said: “Pochin has long supported the Club as a patron and by sponsorship, so when we heard about the need for a revamp of the players’ facilities we knew we could help and were keen to do a first-class job.”

Leicestershire and Rutland Cricket Chief Executive Wasim Khan MBE said: “The players’ showers look absolutely fantastic and we are extremely thankful to David Pochin and Pochin for their support. It has been a pleasure working with Pochin, who have again offered tremendous support to the club.”
