Leicestershire trio on Ashes tour

Three members of the Leicestershire and Rutland Seniors cricket side are representing England in the second Seevent Ashes series in the next few weeks.

Leicestershire and Rutland Cricket Chairman Jeff Baxter is flying out to Australia on Wednesday along with Alan Cook and George Fox as England look to retain the trophy they won in 2013.

Jeff, who has been playing cricket since the age of 10, is still heavily associated with Lutterworth CC while Alan has connections with Hinckley Town/CCA and George has played for Bitteswell.

Although Leicestershire does not currently have a 70+ side, the trio have made regular appearances for Leicestershire Over 50s and 60s.

There will be three test matches played at Brisbane, Sydney and Canberra respectively while there will also be games against the Queensland City and Country 70+ teams plus the New South Wales City and Country 70+ sides and the ACT 70+ XI.

Hugh Milner was captain and manager when England won the inaugural series and will again be in charge of a 24-man touring party. Leicestershire and Rutland is the most represented of the English counties.
