Matchday Information

Are you visiting the Upstonsteel Counry Ground for the first time? Here's some key things for you to know...

LV= County Championship action returns to the Uptonsteel County Ground as Kent make the trip on Monday 30 August, starting at 11am. 

The first day of this fixture is the club’s Family Fun Day as we welcome more than 3,000 fans to the Uptonsteel County ground. 

Ahead of your visit to the ground, especially if you are visiting us for the first time, please read the information in this matchday guide.

Timings

Gates Open: 10am

Start: 11.00am

Lunch: 1.00pm “ 1.40pm

Tea: 3.40pm “ 4.00pm 

Close: 6.00pm approx.

Tickets 

All spectators must have a valid ticket for each day of the fixture in order to enter the ground. 

Tickets for Day One are free, as this is the club’s Family Fun Day. 

Tickets for the remaining days of the fixture are available to purchase online HERE

To get the best-priced tickets of adults £15 and U16s £5, fans must purchase online by midnight the day before each day of the fixture. Fans will be sent their tickets via email with the option to either print at home or to download an e-ticket onto a smartphone which can be scanned upon entry. 

Tickets will be available to purchase on the day of the fixture. Fans must go to the Curzon Road entrance where they will be asked to complete a contact data form. On the gate tickets are priced at £20 adults and £7 U16s. Payment is via credit/debit card only. 


Members

All Members can use their Member Card for entry into the ground. Please bring the card with you as this will be scanned in at the gate to allow entry. 


Arrival and Entry 

The gates will open from 10am. All spectators are politely asked not to arrive before this time. 

Plan your journey to allow extra time. There will be additional checks on arrival, so please give yourself sufficient time for your journey. 

The Family Fun Day [Day One of the fixture] in particular, will be very busy, so please bare this in mind when arranging your travel to the ground. 

Entry is by Member card or ticket only. Spectators can enter via either the Milligan Road or the Curzon Road entrances. Re-entry is also permitted through either gate. 


Family Fun Day Activities

The Family Fun Day on Day One of the fixture, Monday 30 August, will see a host of activities situated around the ground. All activities will run from 11am “ 4pm. 

Foxes Den “ located at the end of the main car park 

• The Batting Lab Cricket Batting Simulator*

• Rock Climbing Wall 

• IPS Bunker Reaction Game 

• Cricket Skills Activities 

• Bouncy Castle 

*The simulator comes with a small charge of £3 for 18 balls. 


Main Marquee “ located at the end of the Indoor School, behind the Melton Building Society Family Stand

• Face Painting - Free

• Arts & Crafts “ Free

 

Find a Fox Treasure Hunt 

• Find 12 Letters around the ground to complete the name of a Foxes player. Complete the form and hand into the Merchandise Marquee  - located next to the old scoreboard

 

Ice Cream Van “ located at the end of Car Park near the Foxes Den) 


Sweet Stall “ located behind the Melton Building Society Family Stand


Seating

Spectators can sit within any of the available stands, these are; Uptonsteel, Gallagher, Melton Building Society Family or the Pavilion Stands. 


Parking

On-site parking is available for fans who have purchased a parking pass this season. Purchasers must display their Parking Permit on their car dashboard, so it is visible. Please enter via the Curzon Road entrance where stewards will be on-hand to direct you where to park.

Additional Car parking is available from the Saffron Lane Athletics Stadium (LE2 7NQ), approximately a 10-15 minute walk to the Uptonsteel County Ground. Parking is £5 all day. 


Food and Drink 

Refreshment facilities will be available to spectators.

Bennett Bar “ Located in the Mike Turner Indoor Cricket School

  • Open from 10:00 serving tea, coffee, and soft drinks
  • 11:00 onwards serving alcoholic beverages
  • 12:00 onwards serving above and food. (Daily hot special and sandwiches)

Friends of Grace Road -  located in Bennett bar

  • Make sure you pay the Friends of Grace Road volunteers a visit to purchase some delicious home-made cakes. 
  • Open from 2:30pm serving homemade cakes, tea, and coffee.

Food outlet - located behind the Gallagher Stand at the Bennett End of ground

  • Open from 10:00 serving breakfast rolls, hot grills, vegetarian options, tea, and coffee

Food outlet - located behind The Melton Building Society Family Stand

  • Open from 10:00 serving breakfast rolls, hot grills, vegetarian options, tea, and coffee. 
  • There will also be a sweet stall located in the same location. 

Geary Bar “ Located between the Pavilion and the Melton Building Society Family Stand

  • Open from 10:00 serving tea, coffee, and soft drinks
  • 11:00 onwards serving above and alcoholic beverages
  • 12:00 onwards serving above and food. (Hot pies and sandwiches)

Food outlet - located behind the Pavilion Stand

  • Open from 10:00 serving hot food including grill items and a hog roast. 

Ice cream van 

  • Located in the Foxes Den area. 


Retail 

The club have created a pop-up shop which is available from the marquee between the traditional scoreboard and the Melton Building Society Family Stand. Have a browse to grab some bargains. 

The shop will be open from 10am on Monday until close of play.

For Day’s Two, Three and Four, the shop will be open from 12pm-2pm and 3pm-4:30pm.

Cashless 

The Uptonsteel County Ground is now cashless. Therefore, if you are looking to make any purchases within the ground please bring a debit or credit card with you to make payment. 


Safety

The club politely ask for spectators to be respectful of others when in the ground.

The club encourage spectators to wear a face covering and maintain distancing in crowded and/or indoor spaces.

Sanitization stations will remain in locations at various points throughout the ground.


Toilets

Toilets are available at various points around the ground and are regularly cleaned for health and safety purposes.


Scorecards

Scorecards will be available at each Bar for fans to pick up.
