McKay to miss final two games

Leicestershire CCC has announced that overseas bowler Clint McKay will not be available for the final two LV=County Championship games of the season.

McKay has returned to Australia after being called back to a pre-season training camp by Cricket Victoria’s Chairman of Selectors Andrew Lynch.

The 31-year-old seamer has shone for Leicestershire in all three competitions, including 58 LV=County Championship wickets in 12 games at a terrific average of 24.81.

McKay was also joint leading wicket taker in NatWest T20 Blast (14 wickets at 23.71) and led the way in the Royal London One Day Cup with nine victims at 19.66 apiece.

Leicestershire CCC Head Coach Andrew McDonald said: “It’s a shame to lose Clint with two games to go but I’d like to take this opportunity to thank him for his massive contribution this year as our overseas professional.

“Clint has taken wickets in all competitions, led our attack really well and been a brilliant role model for our younger bowlers. We look forward to welcoming Clint back to Grace Road next season.”
