Hi, I’m Chris,
I am North Shields born and bred, very much a Geordie and a Durham CCC supporter but I am a huge cricket fan and also a member Grace Road, as well as at Middlesex, Yorkshire (Club member) and Northumberland cricket clubs. Now I am retired, I spend a lot of my time watching county cricket. I played a bit of local cricket in my youth, but I was not very good!
My connection comes via my girlfriend, who many years ago had a friend who was from Leicester.
Her husband and I became great friends and we ended up as a rhythm section in a pub band. We played local pubs in the North East but also played a gig at The Victory Pub in Leicester. He is very much a Leicester City fan and I visited at least once a month to go to matches with him. We also used to go and watch a lot of bands on these visits at the Y Theatre or The Musician.
We still visit a lot, combining these visits with watching cricket. I have been a member of Leicestershire CCC for about 3 years and can definitely get value for money from it.
I am looking forward to coming to some cricket at Leicester when things, hopefully, return to some sort of normality.
