Naveen's Team Abu Dhabi lead the way in T10 League

The Abu Dhabi T10 League continued this week, and the electric format supplied fans with stupendous strike rates, tantalising sixes, and wickets galore. Welcome to the T10 weekly roundup.

This weekend saw our excellent overseas wicket taker Naveen-Ul-Haq’s Team Abu Dhabi extend their increasingly dominant campaign as they remain unbeaten this season with five wins in five, now two points ahead of their closest competitor Delhi Bulls. The outstanding team performances have come after wins against Chennai Braves by eight wickets and Rahmanullah Gurbaz’s Delhi Bulls by six wickets.

Individually, Naveen is making notable contributions to his team as he becomes the 11th highest wicket taker in the league, taking four wickets and an economy of 11 runs an over. Naveen’s exciting T10 campaign thus far is building anticipation as we look to see him in action at Uptonsteel County Ground in the upcoming season.

Rahmanullah Gurbaz’s Delhi Bulls currently sit second in the standings in the Abu Dhabi T10 league with 8 points, only two points behind league leaders Team Abu Dhabi. With two unfortunate results this earlier in the week, losing by nine wickets to Deccan Gladiators and six wickets to Team Abu Dhabi, Delhi Bulls showed perseverance and grit as they beat Northern Warriors by 8 wickets in a tight affair on Thursday evening.

The star of the show in the victory over Northern Warriors, was our future Running Foxes T20 big hitter Rahmanullah Gurbaz who achieved a staggering 70 runs in 32 balls opening the batting. Having both the highest individual score and the highest partnership of the Abu Dhabi T10 season 5, Gurbaz was awarded with both Player of the Match and the Dream11 Most Vital Player.

Gurbaz has maintained consistency in his performances following his sublime opening weekend with the Delhi Bulls last week and is now Ranked 2nd highest run scorer in the League after five matches with a total of 164 runs and an impressive strike right of 202.46.  Gurbaz has impressed with his big hitting skills making him one of T10’s most entertaining players to look out for.

If big hitting talent is what you are looking for, then look no further than Rahmanullah Gurbaz who has hit the fourth most sixes in the T10 league increasing the total to 14 after his highly impressive innings smashing five sixes over the boundary. Gurbaz looks to continue pioneering Delhi Bulls to success in their T10 Campaign.

Roman Walker has remained in the Chennai Braves side for two of their three outings as they faced three defeats this week against Team Abu Dhabi, Bangla Tigers and Northern Warriors. Despite Chennai Braves unfortunate set of results, our medium-fast bowler has achieved the second-best bowling strike rate at 12 runs per over within his debut season in the T10 format with Chennai Braves.

Walker will hopefully get future outings within the Braves side this season to build important overseas experience as he looks ahead to the upcoming season with the Running Foxes.

Paul Nixon’s Bangla Tigers are currently fourth in the standings and with six games remaining they look to enter the fight for domestic success within season five of the Abu Dhabi T10 league.

As Batting and fielding coach, Paul Nixon’s side displayed a stunning batting performance against the Chennai Braves as they scored 91 for 1 in 4.2 overs beating the Braves by nine wickets. Nico will look to continue Bangla Tigers excellent batting form into the upcoming games against Team Abu Dhabi and Chennai Braves this weekend.
