Neil Dexter and Ateeq Javid leave Foxes

Leicestershire CCC has announced that all-rounders Neil Dexter and Ateeq Javid have left the club.
Dexter made 45 first-class appearances after joining ahead of the 2016 season. He scored 2,284 runs at 33.10 including five centuries while taking 64 wickets at a similar average with three five-wicket hauls.
His role in T20 varied from an all-rounder in the middle order to an opening batsman while contributing a useful option with the ball, scoring 384 runs and taking eight wickets respectively. Dexter’s 13 List A appearances included a highest score of 50no and a bowling best of four for 22.
Javid joined the Foxes on a two-year deal from Warwickshire CCC in 2017 and went on to score 630 runs and take eight wickets in 24 appearances in all competitions, including 11 Championship, five List A, six T20 and two tour fixtures.
The Birmingham-born Javid was promoted to the top of the order in the Specsavers County Championship. Javid’s highest score of 2019 came in the Specsavers County Championship fixture at the Fischer County Ground against Worcestershire CCC, where he posted 69.

Javid added: “I’ve had two enjoyable years here and I’d like to thank everyone at Leicestershire County Cricket Club. I wish all of the coaching staff and players all the very best for the future.”
