Members at Leicestershire County Cricket Club are now able to enjoy shelter from all kinds of weather thanks to our new parasols.
The retractable canopies were installed by Breezefree Ltd and are a welcome addition to the landscape at Grace Road.
They have been added as part of ground development this season along with new seating and a new-look for the Meet.
Leicestershire and Rutland Cricket Chief Executive Wasim Khan MBE said: “We think it is important that there is some cover from the elements for the Members and Breezefree have done a tremendous job with the new parasols.
“We feel that it is important to keep developing our facilities at Grace Road for Members and we have already received lots of nice comments about the parasols.”
The look and feel of the parasols is in line with cricket grounds up and down the country and guttering will be added in the coming months.
John Woodward of Breezefree Ltd said: “We were asked to supply and install parasols that had to be 600mm taller than usual due to the sight lines required for television cameras, as well as installing a custom-made ground plate to fix to the terrace.
“The tensile look was chosen as this is in keeping with the modern trend for tensile structures found at cricket pavilions up and down the country.”
