Nikesh Rughani becomes a Running Fox Ambassador

International cricket commentator and reporter Nikesh Rughani has joined the Running Foxes as one of the club’s latest Ambassadors.

Nikesh, formally part of the Leicestershire CCC Academy, has a true passion for cricket playing from a young age and now commentates on the game regularly having presented for BBC 5 Live Sport, BBC Test Match Special, SEN Australia & New Zealand and Wisden.

Living in Leicestershire, Nikesh is a proud supporter of the Running Foxes and is a regular visitor to Grace Road during the season.

As an Ambassador for the club Nikesh will support the LCCC Community and Commercial departments on a range of initiatives, focusing particularly on the Club’s Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) Strategy through increased engagement within the South Asian community of Leicestershire.

Leicestershire CCC CEO Sean Jarvis said: “We are thrilled that Nikesh has come on board as an Ambassador for the Club. As a passionate supporter of cricket and the Running Foxes Nikesh is the perfect character to help the club engage further within the diverse community of Leicestershire.

“We look forward to sharing many ideas ahead of a busy summer of cricket, to encourage people of all backgrounds to get involved with cricket whether that’s picking up a bat and ball for the first time or attending a match at the Uptonsteel County Ground for the first time”.

Taking up the role as a Running Fox Ambassador Nikesh said: “It is a great honour to be representing Leicestershire CCC as an Ambassador. I am determined to help this great club to better engage with the large South Asian community within the county. Ultimately, that will lead to success both on and off the field, and that is what we all want.”
